Generation X
Giles Isham
1519–1559
Life
Giles Isham of Pytchley, esquire, was son and heir of Euseby Isham.1 His father brought him up in learning and sent him to London to study the law, whereby he so profited that on his father's death he retired to Pytchley, being in the commission of the peace and "not a littell estemed of a great many and especially of Fraunces the then Earle of Bedford, whose steward he was."? He sat twice in Parliament for Peterborough in the 1550s.1 He died on 31 August 1559 and was buried at Pytchley on 1 September.1
He married Mary Watts of Knotting, Bedfordshire, who was buried on 11 June 1560 at Pytchley, by whom he had issue three daughters and coheirs.1
